INKtober 2

It’s October and I’m really feeling the autumn vibe. I promise it won’t be all fall images – for tomorrow and thursday I have something totally different planned πŸ˜‰ But for now a pretty pumpkin and a pattern concept to support it. I have always had a soft spot for fall colors, but for the pattern I want to use striking bright colors and black. What do you think?

I am really liking how this pattern turned out. I can’t wait to play around with it in color once I have the time.

Thank you for following my inktober drawing/ pattern project this year!

Have a pumkilisious day πŸ™‚

It’s time for Inktober!

It’s that time a year again and I am so excited for Inktober this year. Last year I did small ink and quill illustrations and colored them with watercolors. I loved them and sold quite a few framed originals. This year however, I am doing something different! Change is good, change promotes learning. I will be doing ink pen sketches, making them into patterns and coloring them digitally. It is a bit ambitious I admit, so I only vow to color one part of the pattern during this month and creating the pattern in black and white for concept purposes. I will then take the best ones and color them in at a later time. Plan made, check. Executing it right now πŸ˜€

inktober 1 mushtoom

Last week I went on a forest walk with my mum and did a bit of inspired forest sketching. This is a little cute mushroom from my trip and below are more of my discoveries.

Please feel free to comment and give me some honest feedback!

Thank you for reading this far πŸ™‚ See you tomorrow for Inktober 2!

Falling Bat

Going away from all the cutesy imagery, I wanted to do something slightly more expressive this month too. A Bat seems appropriate this close to halloween. What do you think?

Inktober 22 – Hare Decor

It is crazy that October is almost at an end. It feels like I just started my inktober drawings yesterday and now Halloween is just around the corner! I am a bit behind but will catch up this week. I’m excited to have another inktober collection to show for this year. I have really enjoyed this medium. This is inktober 22 – A decor pattern with a cute little Hare.

Sleeping Fox – Inktober 21

For Inktober 21st I did a cute little sleeping fox. I have been drawings a lot of more realistic or pattern inspired animals in the last few years and though it would be really fun to try to do something small, simple and cute. This is the second in a little mini series.

Inktober 19th is a cute raccoon all dressed up for the approaching winter. He is very content with his green sweater and nut combo Β πŸ™‚

Carrying the World

Inktober 17 – Carrying the world is a bit more conceptual and less cutesy unlike many of my previous inktober drawings. In any collection of drawings there’s always always an odd man outΒ just like with people in real life. In some cases they might feel like they are carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders.
