Falling Bat

Going away from all the cutesy imagery, I wanted to do something slightly more expressive this month too. A Bat seems appropriate this close to halloween. What do you think?

Halloween is only 15 days away and it is time to start thinking about that Halloween costume! This little guy went with a classic – The modified sheet ghost! Boohoo!

A golden autumn tree – Inktober 14

The leaves haven’t quite turned where I live, but I am starting to see many beautiful autumn pictures online from friends across the globe. Especially Westchester county brings back many good memories of spectacular fall weather and activities. I am super excited that fall is here. It is such a beautiful season.

A not so scary Scarecrow

Something that seams to always go with the theme of October and the upcoming holiday Halloween is the scarecrow. I wanted to use that for an inktober drawing, but I am not a huge fan of scary things though. Hence I decided to make a not so scary scarecrow instead. This bird is definitely not scared of him, and I would probably be more scared of the bird in comparison (: A cute scarecrow and his companion for inktober 10th.

Inktober 9 – A little pumpkin House

I have been holding off with the pumpkins because I wanted to save them for later in October, but now I couldn’t control myself any longer. I love pumpkins! I love pumpkin carving, pumpkin fields, even the giant boxes of pumpkins in the supermarkets… Pumpkins are simply what sums up the beauty of autumn for me. The natural vibrant colors that reminds us of the season we are changing into. So of Inktober 9, I made a little pumpkin house, because what would be cooler than living in one :p

A story in a bottle

I just love the month of October. I find so much inspiration from all these artist participating in the Inktober project from all over. Social media is booming with beautiful images and it gies you a reason to stop up and practice some personal art. I don’t know how Jake Parker came up with the idea of Inktober, but I am so very grateful that he did. For my eighth inktober drawing this year I wanted to do something a bit more conceptual, so I decided to take the message in a bottle concept, but create a visual story instead of message and this is what I ended up with:

A child in flight

For my seventh inktober drawing I wanted to challenge myself and draw another child. I have somehow managed to avoid drawing people for a few years while working as a freelance illustrator and wanted to use inktober this year to challenge myself in several areas. I normally don’t draw people or use color much, so my goal is to have at least one forth of my inktober drawings include human characters and all be done in color! I feel like I am making good progress thus far 🙂
