Inktober 4th – Hummingbird in flight

Going totally away from the typical inktober feel, here is a design made for Spring/ Summer ’19. I love how the yellows and purples compliment one another and if it was ever printed on a card, accents of gold foil would really make it shine.

Here is a pattern derived from the background of the bird illustration. I like the blues, but it needs an accent of some vibrant summer color. Maybe loosely in the flowers or in an offset effect. What do you guys think?

Thank you for viewing 🙂

Inktober 3rd – Vintage florals

As promised I am staring away from the typical October feel. For my third inktober I wanted to do something more vintage that would work with textiles, rather than gifting. I absolutely love the blue-green in the leaves right now, so you will probably see more like that soon. Opposed to my regular very clean linework, this is much more expressive and I like how it gives the flowers depth. What do you guys think?

I can see the pattern working on wallpapers as well.

Thank you for following my Inktober project. See you tomorrow for a print made for spring of 2018.

Falling Bat

Going away from all the cutesy imagery, I wanted to do something slightly more expressive this month too. A Bat seems appropriate this close to halloween. What do you think?

Hedgehog Love – Inktober 20th

I have started a new little mini series of small simple and adorable garden animals for part of this years inktober series. I am so glad I gave watercolors a chance because this month has been so much fun, experimenting with new mediums and subject matters.

Cute Inktober Raccoon

Inktober 19th is a cute raccoon all dressed up for the approaching winter. He is very content with his green sweater and nut combo  🙂

Carrying the World

Inktober 17 – Carrying the world is a bit more conceptual and less cutesy unlike many of my previous inktober drawings. In any collection of drawings there’s always always an odd man out just like with people in real life. In some cases they might feel like they are carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders.

Inktober 16 – Flower girl

A small flower girl for inktober 16th. Sometimes I think that the reason we love to travel to distant countries with great nature is how large it all seems to us. Imagine only being a few inches tall, how beautiful even our own backyard be?

A golden autumn tree – Inktober 14

The leaves haven’t quite turned where I live, but I am starting to see many beautiful autumn pictures online from friends across the globe. Especially Westchester county brings back many good memories of spectacular fall weather and activities. I am super excited that fall is here. It is such a beautiful season.

A growing book – Inktober 13

Books are just wonderful. They come from nature and creativity and so they inspire. There is nothing more endearing than falling in love with imagined scenes from a book and bringing them to life with art.
